HPV Cancer Screening

Moving from cell- to blood-based HPV Cancer Screening

In contrast to traditional cell-based methods, the latest generation of tests is based on blood-based immunoassays and supports systemic entire-body screens with only serum or blood. Currently, cancer detection relies on cell-based in vitro diagnostics and imaging systems.  These classical methods support tumour localisation and the characterisation of known lesions; they are usually applied when there are specific symptoms.

Patient management for HPV-induced cancer is divided into four distinct phases: Screening, Tumour Characterization, Therapy Monitoring and Relapse Monitoring.
